You should really take a look at I Wrote This For You, which has new amazing pictures + words almost every day. I'm honoured to know those fellows, even if they're in South Africa & Japan and I've never actually met them.

So I was sketching in pencil today, something I never do anymore.. a nice little picture emerged. It wasn't until I was editing the colour balance in Photoshop and got to see the picture at length (ha) that I saw it.. oh man.

 
I had drawn a dick.

He's balancing on an egg with a cracked tip, no less. No matter which you slice it, penis is all over this picture. I was crestfallen.

I'm going to call it 'Slick Rick's Egg-mazing Balancing Act'.

Anthropomorphic nipples are obviously next.

I Wrote This For You

Inked a T-Shirt to help support the 'I Wrote This For You' Project, a collaboration of words & pictures between two people from South Africa & Japan, all done for you.

 You can buy it from Printfection. Proceeds go directly towards creating more beauty in the world.

I did the album artwork for Cubehead's eponymous CD. We wanted a traditional handmade feel, so it was hand-inked on a 94 year-old vintage book, with the liner notes written on the interior of the cover. It was then scanned + assembled to echo the original hardcover.

The interior of the CD case. As Cubehead mixes in video game style chiptunes into gritty DIY punk, we chose lettering that nodded to the retro 8-bit font of computer terminals mashed up with pixação elements, a raw + cryptic style of Brazilian graffiti.

This was an awesome project, sweet to see it all come together!

Longboards

I did two custom longboards at the EP!C Sustainability Expo this weekend. They are factory seconds that can't be sold due to small defects, and I was able to get them raw, right after they were cut. I then inked them and gave them a triple-coat of sealant. They look awesome up close!

I've been working on this piece for about 7 months now, on & off. It's gone through a lot of variation, and there's countless versions, ideas, words buried inside, hidden... but not lost.

2500 Block

Finished up a really cool new piece, "2500 Block". I knew as soon as I found the frame in a thrift store it would be epic! As the piece evolved, it was fun + exciting to play different parts in what makes a wall; tagging it with an oil pen as a vandal, whitewashing it as a graffiti cleanup crew, decrepit advertisements for things not sold in 25 years still visible, wheatpasting up DIY posters, angry shopkeepers trying to peel them down, wind + rain + time washing the whole little opera away.. building the yeti up was a challenge, with so much spackle + gel and miniature lines that get completely buried, glossed over, drawn again.. there is so much in the piece that can't be seen anymore, but those hidden parts still exude their energy and intent, each building off another. A wall of exposed secrets.

Dying Alone

A lovely ink cover illustration for "McFirth's Comprehensive Guide to Dying Alone" (Mssrs. Chop & Logik, Fleet Street, E.C. 1891), a handy & timely tome that speaks to us all as mortals. The expression is one mirrored on many when contemplating the inevitability of their demise; but as McFirth lays out his research & describes the structures of thought & consciousness, we see that dying alone doesn't mean dying lonely. With masterfully rendered Four Quadrant maps, he reveals death to be a sublimation & the return of our atoms & spirit to the Cosmos, and not something to fear at all.

He was subsequently executed for Hearsay & Aggravated Witchcraft, but his work lives on in this exquisitely-maintained volume.
